Whisby Nature Park
Whisby Nature Park is an area of over 150 hectares of wetland, grassland and scrub habitat. The extensive lakes are the result of excavation of sand and gravel, which were deposited in the valley of the River Witham by the retreating ice cap during the last glaciation.
The extensive network of paths, waymarked trails and birdwatching hides have been designed to allow visitors to see and enjoy the wildlife associated with a wide variety of habitats. The area is designated a Local Nature Reserve and is managed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust in partnership with North Kesteven District Council and Lincolnshire County Council. Within the Nature Park there is an Education Centre and The Natural World Centre with exhibitions and a café.
